We do everything possible to make our auctions fair and transparent. Please read the following information before you bid and buy.
Registration and deposits
Registration to bid is free. You may be required to place a refundable bid deposit. Online registration only.
Every auction is unreserved
Every item is sold to the highest bidder on auction day, with no minimum bids or reserve prices. Owners are forbidden by contract from bidding on items they are selling. Bids are irrevocable, and all sales are final. If you're the highest bidder when the item closes, you're the new owner of that item.
Everything sells "as is, where is"
We recommend that you visit the auction site to inspect any items you'd like to buy before bidding on auction day. You may also send someone to the site to conduct the inspection on your behalf.
Transaction fees for buyers
Please note : Effective January 1, 2024, our transaction fees structure has been adjusted; Each purchased Lot will be subject to a transaction fee of:
Canada
With the exception of on-farm auctions, each purchased Lot will be subject to a transaction fee of: (a) 15% on all Lots selling for CAD 5,000 or less, with a minimum fee of CAD 100 per Lot, (b) 10% on all Lots selling for over CAD 5,000 up to and including CAD 12,000, with a minimum fee of CAD 750 per Lot, (c) 4.85% on all Lots selling for over CAD 12,000 up to CAD 75,000, with a minimum fee of CAD 1,200 per Lot or, (d) CAD 3,638 on all Lots selling for over CAD 75,000.
For on-farm auctions, regardless of whether you are bidding online or in person, each purchased Lot will be subject to a transaction fee of: (a) 10% on all Lots selling for CAD 12,000 or less, (b) 3.85% on all Lots selling for over CAD 12,000 up to CAD 40,000, with a minimum fee of CAD 1,200 per Lot or, (c) CAD 1,540 on all Lots selling for over CAD 40,000.
USA and Mexico
Each purchased Lot will be subject to a transaction fee of: (a) 15% on all Lots selling for USD 5,000 or less, with a minimum fee of USD 100 per Lot, (b) 10% on all Lots selling for over USD 5,000 up to and including USD 12,000, with a minimum fee of USD 750 per Lot, (c) 4.85% on all Lots selling for over USD 12,000 up to USD 75,000, with a minimum fee of USD 1,200 per Lot or, (d) USD 3,638 on all Lots selling for over USD 75,000.
Europe (except United Kingdom)
Each purchased Lot will be subject to a transaction fee of: (a) 15% on all Lots selling for EURO 5,000 or less, with a minimum fee of EURO 100 per Lot, (b) 10% on all Lots selling for over EURO 5,000 up to and including EURO 12,000, with a minimum fee of EURO 750 per Lot, (c) 4.85% on all Lots selling for over EURO 12,000 up to EURO 75,000, with a minimum fee of EURO 1,200 per Lot or, (d) EURO 3,638 on all Lots selling for over EURO 75,000.
United Kingdom
Each purchased Lot will be subject to a transaction fee of: (a) 10% on all Lots selling for GBP 6,500 or less, or (b) for Lots selling for greater than GBP 6,500, GBP 650 plus 2.35% on such amount greater than GBP 6,500.
Middle East
Each purchased Lot will be subject to a transaction fee of: (a) 15% on all Lots selling for USD 5,000 or less, with a minimum fee of USD 100 per Lot, (b) 10% on all Lots selling for over USD 5,000 up to and including USD 12,000, with a minimum fee of USD 750 per Lot, (c) 4.85% on all Lots selling for over USD 12,000 up to USD 75,000, with a minimum fee of USD 1,200 per Lot or, (d) USD 3,638 on all Lots selling for over USD 75,000.
Australia and New Zealand
8% of the Lot selling price, with a minimum fee of 100 (local currency) per Lot.
Japan
(a) 10% on all Lots selling for JPY 1,000,000 or less, with a minimum fee of JPY 10,000 per Lot, or (b) 4.85% on all Lots selling for over JPY 1,000,000 up to JPY 3,400,000, with a minimum fee of JPY 100,000 per lot, or (c) JPY 164,900 on all Lots selling for over JPY 3,400,000.
The transaction fee applies to online purchases.
Documentation Fees
United States, Canada and Mexico
A $115 documentation fee will be charged on each titled item purchased if it is located in the United States (excluding California), Canada or Mexico.
In California a $70 fee applies.
Germany and The Netherlands
A €65 documentation fee will be charged for foreign buyers on each titled item purchased if it is located in Germany or The Netherlands.
An additional €15 will be charged on items with Dutch registrations (at Moerdijk auctions) and items with German registrations (at Meppen auctions).
France
A €40 documentation fee will be charged on each titled item purchased.
Italy
A €132 documentation fee will be charged for foreign buyers on each titled item purchased.
Spain
No documentation fees
Dubai
A $100 documentation fee will be charged on each title transfer handled by Ritchie Bros.
Payment and removal
Purchases must be paid in full within seven (7) days of the end of the auction. Buyers cannot remove their purchases from the auction site until their invoice is paid in full. Cash payments will not be accepted. Please only pay from the same Ritchie Bros. account under which you made the purchase.If Ritchie Bros. can't convey clear title on a purchase, the buyer is entitled to a full refund of the purchase price. If Ritchie Bros. does not receive full payment within seven (7) days of the end of the auction, interest on overdue amounts will be paid by the buyer at a rate of 18% per annum or at such other maximum rate as allowed by law, together with any legal or collection costs incurred by Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers.

Umsatzsteuer (USt.)
USt. und ggf. ZÖLLE UND ANDERE ABGABEN OBLIEGEN DEM KÄUFER. Die folgenden Regelungen gelten für Käufe auf Auktionen, die an Standorten innerhalb der Europäischen Union durchgeführt werden.
Umsatzsteuer fällt unter folgenden Umständen an:
Für Objekte die in dem Land verbleiben, in dem die Auktion stattfindet
Für Unternehmen, die in dem Land ansässig sind, in dem die Auktion stattfindet
Bei EU-Käufern , die keine gültige Umsatzsteuernummer angeben und/oder keinen gültigen Transportnachweis innerhalb von 90 Tagen nach Rechnungsdatum vorlegen.
Bei Nicht-EU-Käufern , die RBA keine korrekten und vollständigen Exportdokumente innerhalb von 90 Tagen nach Rechnungsdatum vorlegen.
Gültiger Transportnachweis bei EU-Käufern
Dem Unternehmen Ritchie Bros. muss ein gültiger CMR-Frachtbrief vorgelegt werden. Dabei müssen folgende Daten eingetragen sein: das einreichende Unternehmen als Absender in Feld 1, Positions-/Lot-Nummer in Feld 6, Signatur des Empfängers in Feld 24 sowie die weiteren üblichen Daten.
Gültiger Transportnachweis zum Export
Es müssen offizielle Zolldokumente der zuständigen Zollbehörden vorgelegt werden. Das entsprechende Ritchie Bros.-Unternehmen muss als Exporteur aufgeführt sein. Die Objekte müssen klar beschrieben und eindeutig identifizierbar sein. Es muss ein endgültiger Exportnachweis "Exit Confirmation" (Ausgangsbestätigung) oder "Goods Departed"-Bestätigung) vorgelegt werden; die Export-Absicht allein reicht nicht aus.
Wichtiger Hinweis für Nicht-EU-Käufer
Käufer, die Güter in Nicht-EU-Länder exportieren möchten, müssen für alle Objekte, die sie bei der Auktion gekauft haben, eine Kaution hinterlegen. Diese Kaution entspricht dem örtlichen Umsatzsteuerbetrag auf Basis des Kaufpreises. Diese Kaution wird innerhalb von fünf (5) Geschäftstagen nach Vorlage des endgültigen Exportnachweises auf das angegebene Bankkonto des Käufers erstattet. Den endgültigen Exportnachweis erhalten Sie von Ihrem Zollmakler oder Spediteur. Nicht-EU-Käufer müssen korrekte Bankverbindungsdaten angeben, damit die Kaution pünktlich erstattet werden kann.

EU-Maschinenrichtlinie
Gültig seit 1. Januar 1995Bei bestimmten Objekten dieser Auktion ist ein CE-Kennzeichen erforderlich. Objekte ohne CE-Kennzeichen werden unter der Bedingung verkauft, dass Käufer, die solche Objekte innerhalb der EU verwenden oder verkaufen möchten, selbst die erforderlichen Maßnahmen zum Erwerb eines CE-Kennzeichens für sie treffen, wie dies im Rahmen der EU-Maschinenrichtlinie in der nationalen Gesetzgebung des betreffenden Mitgliedsstaats ggf. erforderlich ist. Alle Kosten im Zusammenhang mit dem Erwerb des CE-Kennzeichens und ggf. erforderlichen Maßnahmen sind vom Käufer zu tragen. Einzelheiten erhalten Sie beim Hersteller oder dessen autorisiertem Vertreter innerhalb der EU.
Freihafen und Lager unter Zollverschluss
Die Auktionen in Moerdijk (NL), St-Aubin (FR) und Ocana (ES) werden in Freihandelszonen mit Zollverschluss durchgeführt. Bestimmte Objekte, die im Auktionskatalog oder durch Bekanntmachung auf der Auktion, als "Not Duty Free Circulation EU" (nicht im zollrechtlich freien Verkehr der EU) gekennzeichnet sind, sind (noch) nicht in den Raum der Europäischen Union eingeführt worden. Es obliegt dem Käufer, allen Anforderungen und Pflichten hinsichtlich des Imports in die EU oder in ein anderes, nicht zur EU gehörigen Landes nachzukommen. Zu diesen Pflichten gehört die Einhaltung von Gesetzen und Regelungen dieses Landes, einschliesslich der Bezahlung von Steuern und Zöllen, der Beschaffung relevanter Genehmigungen sowie die Einhaltung aller weiteren anzuwendenden Vorschriften. Der Käufer beauftragt dazu selbst einen geeigneten Spediteur oder Zollmakler. Ritchie Bros. stellt keine Umsatzsteuer (VAT) in Rechnung, wenn die gekauften Waren ordnungsgemäß freigemacht oder abgefertigt wurden. Für die Abfertigung der Waren in den Freihandelszonen werden nominale Dokumentengebühren für den Käufer fällig. An den Standorten stehen Zollmakler für diesen Service zur Verfügung.
